Nurture their curiosity
Inspired by the science of the colour and what infants can actually see, we have curated a collection of muslins and blankets to put your baby’s needs first. Support their development and help captivate & nurture their curiosity.
Welcome to the 4th Trimester
Babies don't just see in black and white. In fact, at birth babies will be able to perceive reds and greens, if they are bold and saturated enough. By around 12 weeks old your little one will start to register strong yellows and blues.
Babies are not able to visually detect the presence of muted pastel tones and the subtleties of these hues until nearly a year old. This is why we decided to buck this trend and put little ones first.
During the paradoxical ‘4th trimester’, the first 12 weeks after a baby is born, sensory experience drives an infant’s neural development. Fundamentally, early years learning is recognising the presence or absence of differences registered by their sensory inputs.
Therefore when it comes to colour, if infants are unable to perceive clear differences in the colours that surround them on a regular basis, there is less opportunity to exercise and reinforce these sensory pathways that lay the foundation for future learning.
This is why we do what we do, and also, a good splash of colour is quite simply a whole lot more fun!
